With the support of UK Trade and Investment, York Associates director Fiona Mee recently visited Sao Paulo in Brazil to carry out market research in the region. (Before joining YA, Fiona ran her own training business in Brazil.) She met with the UK trade representative at the British Consulate, Ms Simone Ricci, who sees great potential for YA’s training offer, particularly in the areas of intercultural communication and international leadership. The Brazil economy is currently growing at 4%, driven in part by exports to China but also by a massive expansion in manufacturing. The greatest challenge that Brazil currently faces is a shortage of qualified labour so professional training is a key area of focus for international companies. YA is building partnerships in Sao Paulo in order to be able to deliver training locally in the near future.
